Quickie Mart
Martin “Quickie Mart” Arceneaux was born and raised in Louisiana. After being kicked out of home as a teen he spent a couple of years living and hustling on the streets through which he was introduced to underground rave, and hip hop culture. He began to spin records at age 17 and after a few short stints of living in Phoenix, AZ and Austin, TX from 18 to 20 he wound back up in Louisiana. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2006 his production and bass remixes have been featured on a number of other independent and major label artists’ projects across a variety of different genres. Q Mart has done official remixes for artists like Slightly Stoopid, Freddie Gibbs, The Revivalists, NOLA bounce legend Ricky B, Katey Red, Galacitc, J-Boogie, and more. His Space Monkey Radio EP held the #4 position on Beatport’s Top 100 Dubstep releases for four weeks when it debuted in December of 2011. He has produced tracks for featured artists such as Planet Asia, Wax, Percee P, Buff 1, T. Mills, Big Freedia, and Gotham Green, …just to name a few. Now residing back in New Orleans, On top of a heavy grind in the studio producing and remixing, Mart spends most of his time on the road or in the skies bringing his unique bass-heavy style to the sound systems of the world. Quickie’s accolades include playing large events like SXSW, Vegoose, and Zen Festival. He has been featured at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, five years at Voodoo Music Festival, seven years at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and most recently twice at BUKU Music and Arts Festival as well as Hangout Music Festival. His side projects include Gypsyphonic Disko with Ben Ellman of Galactic, Bang, You’re Dead with Jes Hudak of Bravo’s Platinum Hit, and Computa Games with Eric Lindell and Co. bassist Chris Arenas.
